Habyt, the global flexible housing provider, has opened its first short and long-stay property in Europe.
Habyt – The Waterfront, Berlin, is the company’s first foray into Europe with an aparthotel offering.
The property will offer 144 studio rooms with a working area, private
bathroom and a kitchenette equipped with fridge, stove and grilling
microwave.
The building includes a further 92 studios dedicated to long-term stays for those who want to stay three months and longer.
Guests have access to “community areas” located on each floor of the
building, with the main common area on the ground floor (equipped with a
shared kitchen, working areas, a meeting room, and sofas and a café).
Located in Berlin’s lively Friedrichshain district, the new hotel is
in the centre of a popular destination for creative communities and
young professionals.
The area is well-served by public
transport, providing easy access to other parts of the city, and Brandenburg Airport (BER).
Founded in 2017 by Luca Bovone, Habyt has a portfolio of more than 30,000 felixble housing units across 50 cities in Europe, Asia and the US. The Waterfront – Berlin is a step away from its flexible living concept, and a step into the extended stay sector.
Habyt has also unveiled its brand refresh, created by DesignStudio, which has previously worked with brands such as Airbnb, Deliveroo, and British Airways.
Habyt’s goal with its rebranding was to create a distinct identity following its acquisition of Common in the US and Hmlet in Southeast Asia – bringing the company’s values and mission under one global flexible housing company.

Habyt gathered insight from more than 1,000 people, including both tenants and property owners to help with the rebrand. Bovone added: "We've laid the groundwork to create a distinct connection with clients of all ages and varying needs, positioning ourselves as the preferred brand for their living requirements.”
